Tried on my Mom’s wedding dress and it fit like a glove. Though I’m not wearing it for my own wedding, the act of finally seeing it in person and trying it on was a very special moment for my Mom & me. I liked imagining her seeing her reflection in the mirror in 1979 and thinking “this is the one”. I think it was pretty surreal for her to see her daughter standing in front of a mirror in it 39 years later. It was a surreal moment for me too. Up until now, I had only seen her dress in wedding photos framed throughout my Grandma’s home and in photo albums. I’ve known since I was a kid that she saved her dress and that one day I would get to see it in person. So grateful that my Mom could come to LA for this moment and that we were able to find my own dress on the same trip. Wedding planning so far has had its highs and lows (low meaning shit’s expensive out there folks…holy crap!) but this weekend with her was a real high. I’ll remember it fondly for the rest of my life. ?
