Career
Reiss started his career in comedy, performing in art shows and composing. Reiss became co-president of the Harvard Lampoon, together with Jon Vitti. He Worked with Al Jean on The Simpsons, The Critic, along with other endeavors. The comedy magazine National Lampoon, picked Jean and Reiss as soon as they graduated in 1981. From the 1980sthey started working on different television projects. During this time Reiss and Jean worked as producers and writers on tv shows like the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1984–1986), ALF, Sledge Hammer! The very first episode Jean and Reiss created was “Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington” September 19, 1991. The series was produced by The Simpsons co-developer James L. Brooks. It was the very first broadcast on ABC in January 1994 and has been well received by critics. He co-wrote the screenplay for The Simpsons Movie in 2007. In 2000 Reiss individually created Hard Drinkin’ Lincoln, a string of 16 flash cartoon cartoons for Icebox.com with manager Xeth Feinberg.
